Merit Electric Company, Inc. was founded in 1972 by R.C. Wooten, Jr. The company merged with an existing company, Flournoy Electric Company (established in 1950), to create the Merit Electric we know today. The company, based in Pinellas County, Florida, has flourished over several decades on projects throughout the state of Florida.
With continued growth and success, R.C. brought on a 2nd generation of owners in his sons, G.H. “Bud” (1974), Tim (1974), and Jamie (1984).
In 1990 Bud, Tim, and Jamie bought the company from R.C Wooten and have successfully grown it into one of the most respected electrical contractors in the State of Florida.
Now celebrating over 70 years of service, and moving into the future with a 3rd generation, the Wooten family prides itself on creating and maintaining long term relationships with developers, contractors, and owners. What makes us different is our well established and experienced staff of employees.
